CSM Media Research/TNS Sport part of the Sports and Fortune Forum 2009 / Beijing
On Saturday 10th, 2009, CSM Sports Research unit's TNS Sport China participated successfully in the latest Action for Sports Forum titled ¡®'Sports and Fortune Forum' organized in Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing, regrouping all major actors of the Chinese sports and sponsorship market.
In the 1st part of the Forum, alongside presentations of LINING, SINA sports, the German Football Association and CCTV5, Pierre Justo, Director of CSM's TNS Sport and representing the research point of view for the Forum members presented for 30 minutes a comprehensive picture of the current situation of the sports industry in China based on the latest sports ratings and sports surveys conducted by CSM Media Research/TNS Sport such as the TNS Sport Sports Sponsorship Barometer China or the TNS Sport China Sports on TV Report.
Key insights show that the situation is currently very positive for the industry with a continuously growing interest of Chinese for sports, a successful combination of strong offer and impressive watching of sports on TV, let alone a strong impact of sponsorship on the development of brands amongst the Chinese consumers However, as a relatively new industry that developed rapidly only in the past decade, a lot of efforts remain to be done in terms of organization of the industry, implementation of best sponsorship strategies and support to the development of the Chinese grass root sports market.
In the 2nd part of the forum, key experts joined CCTV 5's famous moderator ZHANG Bin to discuss the way for China to turn into a completely developed and mature sports market. Ma Guoli, former CCTV5 Director and Beijing Games Broadcasting Director and now CEO of Infront China, Scoot Kronick, President of Ogilvy Beijing, Feng Jun, founder and CEO of Aigo and LU Hao, CEO of Star exchanged views on that matter and explained how they perceived the evolution of the market in the coming 5 years.
Sandrine Zerbib, former CEO of Adidas China and Philippe Blatter CEO of Infront AG concluded the Forum with the expectations for the future development of that Group.
The Sports & Fortune Forum 2009 was attended by nearly 100 of the major actors of the sports and sponsorship industry in China including representatives of sponsors, media marketers, sports marketing experts media owners, agents, federations, sports journalists etc¡
