Rating refers to the percentage of the number of the individuals or households viewing (listening) to a program within a duration of time out of the total individual or household viewers (listeners), i.e. It is a guideline for calculating the number of TV program viewers and radio program listeners. Ratings are the scientific basis for advertisement assessment, the principle index of program evaluation and the critical substratum of program scheduling and adjustment.
