As a leading audience researcher in China, CSM operates the world’s largest audience measurement panel with successive and sophisticated research instruments used by hundreds of clients from broadcasters, advertising agencies and media researchers both at home and abroad. CSM TV ratings measurement has been upgraded and is capable of cross-media audience survey. CSM Media Research is now able to provide advanced research services for Weibo users measurement, live TV ratings and time-shift TV viewing ratings. In addition, CSM Media Research enables it’s clients with the single-panel audience data of TV viewing for OTT, smart TV and IPTV. CSM Media Research is also the full media research service provider for TV stations and agencies in the Hong Kong Special Administration Region under a six-year agreement.
With the change of the media landscape and the development of data demand from the media industry, CSM Media Research launched the cloud service tool of V+Scope in 2019, which enables CSM’s better and new services including media integration research, sports media research, big data research and audience-consumer integration research and etc. With CSM’s cloud service of V+Scope, TV stations and other data users can have a better understanding of the new media and will perform better in the mobile media market.

International Standards Since its foundation, CSM has abided by the GGTAM (Global Guidelines for TV Audience Measurement) in conducting TV rating research activities, and also has taken into account some special characteristics of the China market. At the same time, CSM has translated GGTAM into Chinese, distributed it throughout the industry and put the guidelines into practice. Therefore, CSM's data is widely recognized by the market and has become the "THE currency" for the industry.

Following the information security management principle - “to continuously improve information security systems, to ensure the credit of TAM and RAM data ”- CSM set up and amplified its documented information security management system, carried out employee training on information security institutions and regulations, enhanced employee’s consciousness and techniques on information protection and reduced the risk of information disclosure with the support of international-advanced information protection technologies. On September 14th, 2010, DNV, a leading international certification institution based in Norway formally issued the "ISO/IEC 27001 information security management system” certification to CSM. CSM passed the strict information security management system audit process based on the internationally recognized information security management standard “ISO/IEC 27001 information security management system”, and became first market research company in China to adopt the “ISO/IEC 27001 information security management system.

CSM’s TV audience measurement network provides data that represents the viewing of over 1.28 billion people in China mainland and 6.49 million people in Hong Kong SAR. As of September 2024, CSM has one national panel, 29 provincial panels (including 4 municipalities), 86 city panels in China mainland and one Hong Kong SAR city panel measuring the viewing of close to 1100 unique TV channels in order to meet demand of different TAM clients. Concurrently, CSM built radio audience measurement panels in 13 cities , which measure the listening of close to 300 radio frequencies representing the listening close to 60 million people in China.
